With remote handset, not only you can operate 8 relays but also make digital outputs high or low. This can be used to operate additional 9 relays or these outputs can be used for other purposes. For example making LEDs on/off.

Apart from this, it has got additional 8 power output pins. These pins can be used to operate any other load up to 500 mA at 7 to 12 V DC each.

There is a jumper near power pins, which can be used to power either Relays or Power pins. These power pins can be used to operate many other loads like DC motors, actuators, LED strips, small pumps etc

If you want to operate only power pins then you can use 7 to 12 V DC while operating Relays require 12 V DC only.

Controlling the new IR remote control relay board is very easy.

  • Hello Jay

I have built a Backhoe excavator in Meccano powered by 6 dc motors. I would like to control the model remotely using infra-red and your products looks ideal.

I would like to use joysticks to control the motors. Just like the real driver.

I live in Israel, and Meccano has been a lifelong hobby.

Looking forward to hearing from you with your advice for the product you recommend, and if you reply by email, I will send you a photo of the model and the controller.

    Best wishes and kind regards

    Michael
